i love the cool weather and the rainy season. i feel fresh when its cooler and it is nice to be sipping a hot cup of good coffee while watching the rain trickle down your window. but for the past weeks, my encounter with the rainy weather was really harsh.
two typhoons visited the metro in two weeks time. first was last wednesday and then today(which happened to be a wednesday as well) what's with wednesday by the way? the strong winds and the hard rain seem to like this particular day. oh well. last week, despite the bad weather, i was forced to still go to the office. IMMAP(a marketing conference) was scheduled to start the following day and besides we need to set up our booth at Hotel Intercon that night. so i braved the flooded streets and went out. thankfully i got in the office safe but really wet. don't ask me anymore what happened during that day. all i could remember was a day of non-stop work and finishing touches for the IMMAP event and getting more wet in the evening as i went to makati while waiting for 10:30 to strike which is the scheduled time for the booth set up. i got home around 11:30pm, tired and weary from the day's work. still the 7am call time for IMMAP was programmed in my mind and thankfully i got up really early the following day.
today, same thing happened. i left the house around 7:30am, it was drizzling a little. there was no news that there is a typhoon or anything. so i went on and commuted my way to the office. while i was in the jeepney, it rained really hard and strong winds begin to blow. i wasn't even half way to the office and i'm all wet already. no sign or advice that classes or work was suspended already, i took the MRT and prayed that i'll make it to the office in time. when we reached Boni station, the train stopped. the operator spoke over the PA system and said that there was a problem with the electricity and that we will have to wait until it was resolved. we waited there for at least 15 minutes. i texted my mom just so she would know where i am in case anything happens, and then my boss to inform that i'll be late for work. after a few more minutes, the train started to move again. in the next station, we had to wait again. at this time, i'm already thinking of going home. i continue texting my sister and some office friends. realizing that the rain wouldn't stop soon, i decided to get out of mrt and start my commute back home. on the way, i texted my sister whose classes was suspended already. we were suppose to meet here in makati, until now she's not yet here. according to her traffic is moving slow, not a surprise really considering that most streets are flooded. thankfully there's an internet shop open here in ayala mrt. so here i am blogging about the morning's events while waiting for my sister. i hope she arrives soon.
