tale of three fishies

we used to have 3 fighting fishies which i got as a give away from the PNMC at Sofitel a few months ago.

first three weeks, all the three fishies got their own fish bowls. i feed them everyday and mom takes care of cleaning the bowls every week.

one saturday, i was at home by my lonesome. i was watching tv and playing with franky, our pet shihtzu. i noticed something black that is crawling under the center table. i didn't clearly see what is it really, first thing that entered my mind it could be an insect or snake or something. i instantly hit what i thought was a baby snake fearing that it could get to franky and hurt her. so without hesitation i got my slippers and whacked with all my force the black crawling creature until i noticed that one of the fish bowls was empty! i stopped hitting the black crawling creature which turned out to be one of our pet fishies. i quickly looked at the poor thing closely, really hoping that it was still alive. to my disappointment, fishie is already dead. i felt bad about what i did. I killed fishie and i'm really sorry.

just last week, my sister was watching tv before going to school one morning. she suddenly realized that its time to go. she turned the tv using the remote control and tossed it to the center table. she hit another fishbowl! when my mom came home later that day from a visit to her doctor, she found out that the fishbowl was left broken in our dirty kitchen. she saw the second fishie almost dead. instinct dictated that she should put the fishie in water. so she palced the second fishie to the bowl of the last remaining fishie. uhm, the fishies are called fighting fish...a general rule is never put them together in the same fish bowl! the second fishie survived for a few hours, i feel sorry for him coz he lost most of his fins. it was probably too tired to fight. another poor fishie.

the last and only fishie remaining is still recuperating from his last battle. its fins are broken, and it seemed a little sad. maybe its missing two of its original fishie friends. how sad!
